Dates Showing up in Gantt Bars

Linda

I have created a master schedule containing several sub-
projects. I condensed the detailed tasks into their
respective summary tasks, and in only two cases, I'm
seeing the start date within the gantt chart bar. I can't
get them to go away -- any ideas as to why they're
displaying and how to get rid of them?

Hi Linda,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Try Format/Bar Styles.../Text tab and delete Start fom the Inside setting.

Next time, try posting on the project newsgroup, as this one is closing
down! Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs, companion
products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web
address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Mike:

Thanks for the heads up on this closing down. Regarding
the dates showing in the bar, I did go into the format
dialog box yesterday before posting this -- there's
nothing in the text box! This only shows on two of
perhaps 50 bars -- that's why I'm confused. If you have
any other suggestions, I'd be grateful to hear them.

Thanks again,

LK

I did that -- there is no text showing, yet the start date
is still displayed on the bar.

I'm fresh out of ideas, Linda :( You could try copying the whole task
(click the ID/row number so that the whole row goes black) and then pasting
it at the bottom (is the date still there?). Then delete the offending task
and copy/paste it back from the bottom. Or you could try deleting the task
and then re-typing it in. Save a backup first and experiment a bit!

Thanks, Mike. I will give that a try!

Hello Linda,

I am not totally sure what you mean but isn't it just by right clicking in
the toolbar and hide this toolbar effective? Or rightclick in the task.
