Dates

I have recently made a list with drop downs for order analysis.

I have the date price department and account for drop down titles.

I already have all the data. The dates are numerical
example(6/28/2006). When I go to my drop down menu to organize all the
purchases for a certain month all that comes up is all the dates. When
I bring the drop menu down I want the selections to be the name of the
month example(june).

Thanks

Format the dates in the list range as custom mmmm

OR is there more to this than I read?

I'm not about to start chasing around to other sites when you could add to your
description and post here.

Sorry. Here is the same thing again. // Stands for the bring down
function.

Date // Account // Price // Department //

6/12/2006 B3433 487.99 Frank
6/13/2006 B3433 432.99 Gregory
6/14/2006 C2354 325.34 Frank
6/23/2006 C2322 3423.23 Frank
7/12/2006 B3433 43.33 Harvy
7/23/2006 B3433 4335.32 Tammy
8/23/2006 C2342 324.34 Harvy

Date has bring down box that says:

(All)
(Top 10)
(Custom)
6/12/2006
6/13/2006
6/14/2006
6/23/2006
7/12/2006
7/23/2006
8/23/2006

I want it to say:

(All)
(Top 10)
(Custom)
June
July
August

With the same dates still in the table like now.

From your description, it seems you did not create the drop-down menu, you
simply have Autofilter turned on.

Autofilter list will show exactly what is in the cells.

You cannot change this AFAIK

You can use the Custom to extract only the month you wish to see.

Hi

I think the only way to achieve what you want would be to insert a new
column A.
In cell A2 enter =B2 and Format>Cell>Number>Custom>mmm
Copy down column A for the extent of your data.
Extend your Autofilter range to include the newly inserted column A.
Use the dropdown on column A to Select the Month required.

Fine

Just because you don't like the answers you have been given, doesn't
mean they are incorrect.
Have fun elsewhere.

I think you should go to a more expert forum.

Changing what you see in the drop-downs of Autofilter is beyond us.
