I suggest a canned statement that can be copied and pasted (from a saved txt
file) for first time issues that need more information.
After reading what most assistance providers ask the Poster of the problem I
see there are many that request the same info. For consistencies' sake how
about a set of questions that can be used by all?

Something like:

What version of Publisher are you using?
What service provider are your using for hosting your site?
What is the URL to your site?
ETC....... Add some more ......

After a while it will be routine and more folks will provide that info up
front if they read a few posts.

Or am I just barking at birds ??? (Making noise)

Good idea in theory, and it can't hurt. I use some canned text when I answer
web questions in the general group that refers posters to the web group and
requests some of the standard information we need. However, my experience
has been that a large percentage of the first time posters, and even the
repeat posters, do not bother reading other posts before they ask their
questions. That is just the nature of this beast. But as I said, go for it.
It will help in some cases I am sure.
