DB question

I have a current question regarding Fe designs and conflicts on making
changes in the Access design forum.My question here is how many FE designs
can you have on the desktop and would making a design change on one affect
the other FE"s located on the desktop?

I've had 4 or 5 open at once. I suppose you could run as many as you had
memory and processor to handle.

Changes made to a database affect only that database unless others are
connected to it. You cannot make any changes to databases written in Access
2000 and later while there is an active connection by any other instance.

Excellent point, Arvin.

I am having a problem with my FE since i am trying to make one change to one
button of the switchboard.I need to have this copy for someone other than the
three current users of this FE.I copied the FE by using copy/paste function
to my desktop...when i made the change, not only did it cause errors to the
current users but it also transfered the change to the orginal DB from which
i made the copy.What can be done for this matter?

If you are running a separate FE for each workstation, you can make a copy
and make all the changes you want on that copy, (assuming it's not to the
tables on the BE) If each workstation is connected to the same copy of the
FE running from a server or 1 of the machine, you need to stop that and give
each user their own copy of the front-end.

Ok,

I created the DB and it resides on my desktop, i copied this FE on to a
thumb drive and copied from the thumb drive to another user's desktop and
updated the links to the BE so that user can now begin to make entries into
the BE.Now that i have gotten that far, please describe what is the proper
method to to make changes or customize the existing switchboard of this DB so
it can be loaded on to another users desktop.
