Can anyone tell me what the default DB size is for a base install of
Portfolio Server?
I am looking for the size of all the related DB's for the MS EPM solution,
Project Server, Portfolio Server and such. Any help would be appreciated.
Looking at some real world data: a moderately used Portfolio Server
deployed approximately 6 months ago with very few users has databases
adding up to less that 150 MB. If I recall correctly, there are a
couple hundred projects imported and 50 or so custom attributes in
this instance.
A fresh Project Server 2007 install will create nine databases, five
for SharePoint and four for Project Server. The size of these can vary
dramatically. Some of the SharePoint databases will host content, so
will be affected by the size of files that users place in the document
libraries. The Project Server databases will be affected by the number
and size of projects and most dramatically by the Schedule backup
options configured.
A Project Server 2007 instance with about 50 project plans and 500
resources retaining five versions of projects as backups might add up
to 10 GB of data or so. An instance with 1500 projects and 150
resources (don't ask) retaining only one version of projects as a
scheduled backup might be about the same size, but again, SharePoint
site use can change a lot.
