*.dbx file extension

Hello experts,

I have a problem with my mail:
Somebody tampered with my PC and my mail disappeared from the mailer
(outlook express 6.0)
The folder files are still on the harddrive but I can not import them back
to the mailer.
The program tells that the file format is wrong.

All the folder files have extension *.dbx and are still on the harddrive.
Is there any way to rescue my mail (i.e to read dbx -files?)
