ddisabling a txtbox using VB

I'm attempting to disable a txtbox after it's been updated with old
data, so that it can't be accidently changed. I tried
me.ChickenR.locked and me.ChickenR.disablewhen but both are giving
invalid use erros. Any suggestions?

The correct syntax is:
Me.ChickeR.Enabled = False (or True)
or
Me.ChickenR.Locked = False (or True)
