deadline shift, strange behavior

I am importing data from access to project. one of the columns is a
Deadline. on the gantt chart it shows deadline arrows the morning of. For
example, if the deadline is Wednesday, July 9, then the little deadline arrow
is on the line between tuesday and wednesday. If, however, i click on that
deadline box and select Wednesday, July 9 (yes, it's the same date) the
deadline arrow shifts over a day, to the line between Wed. and Thurs. Any
idea why?

Manually setting deadlines generally makes them fall at the end of the
selected day. Zooming in on the timescale or selecting a date format which
includes hours will give you a better idea of what is going on.
