Deafault Save as??

John

I am trying to convert all my 2003 format project into 2007 version after an
upgrade to MSP2007.

I have tried to change the default version via 'Save as' and I have also
changed the the option via Tools - Options - Save - Save Microsoft Office
Project File As to Project (*Mpp) but this setting change always reverts back
to the 2003 format? Can anyone please provide further suggestions? Or point
me in the right direction?

Many thanks,

J

Hi John,

I'm not sure I follow you completely. You open a file created in
Project 2003 using Project 2007. What happens when you click the
Save button? You should see a message along the lines of:

"Filename" is a Microsoft Office Project 2003 file Do you want o
overwrite it with the last Microsoft Office Project 2007 format?
To overwrite it, click Yes. To save it in the Microsoft Office
Project 2003 Format, click No."

Do you not see this message? What service pack is applied to
Project 2007? Do you have both versions still installed to your
computer?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie, Hi.

Apologies if that did not make sense, I only have MSP2007 installed on my
machine, so I am opening the 2003 version project files and then following
the steps you have suggested below. I have tried to set my deafult save as
via Tools - Options - Save - Save Microsoft Office Project File As to Project
(*Mpp). This should enable all save's to be in the 2007 version and not 2003
but MSP does not remeber this setting it reverts back to the 2003 setting.

Hope this makes more sense???

Hello John,

Thanks for the clarification. When you create a new file and
save, does it save as 2007 or 2003? What service pack is
applied? I can not duplicate the error using Project 2007 SP-2.

Are you using Project Server?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
