Dear Angela

Hi there

We have a machine at work with Windows 2000 on it; it's not networked. Every
time the program is opened or File, New selected we get a document 1 with
the start of a letter to Dear Angela. We have tried deleting the text and
saving the template to Normal. We searched the whole drive for templates,
opened them, deleted the text as appropriate and saved them. We've
uninstalled and reinstalled but still we get Dear Angela!

Has anyone got any ideas to help please. It's amazing how little call we
have for a Dear Angela template.

TIA
Sox

Have you checked the style implemented, or autotext? Or is a macro running
automatically? Have you checked for viruses?

Grasping at straws here... Is Explorer set to show all files, even
hidden ones? Maybe the offending template is hidden, so your previous
search didn't find it?

Does Tools - Options - File Locations show the location Word expects
to find its Normal template, and have you checked that location for
offending templates? Also, while you're here, check where your Startup
folder is located, and see what it contains - maybe there's and add-in
or something that's causing this behavior?
