Decent book for Mac Excel X?

R

I have a Mac G4 in my office, running OS X Panther and Excel Version X.
I usually self-teach my software, using "big" books like the Unleashed,
Companion, or Using series.

The problem is, I can't find ANY decent books on Excel X. The only
thing I can find are a couple of "Quick-Start" type books on Mac Office
X or Office 2004, which of course would have a only a couple of small
sections on Excel. Is there ANYTHING out there?

There's a new O'Reilly Missing Manual Office 2004 book (that I helped
tech-edit), but it's geared toward newer users.

The best XL books, in my opinion, are by John Walkenbach, specifically
his Excel 200x Bible and Excel 200x Formulas. They're written for WinXL,
but they are 90% compatible with MacXL. The keyboard shortcuts will be
different (e.g,. CMD vs. CTRL), but the concepts are the same. There are
a few topics, like the List Manager and Formatting Palette, or XL04's
Page Layout view, that aren't covered, of course.

If you can, check to see if your library or bookstore has an older copy
- the 2000 series has just about everything relevant, and should be
obtainable more cheaply than the 2003 series.

The "Using Excel 200X" books are at my local Barnes & Noble. They have
2000, 2002, and 2003. I was wondering which would come closest to what
I have. I am guess 2000. Agree?

That should be fine...
