decimal fraction in actual work on resource usage view

Hello, we are not using timesheet yet but we enter actual values manually in
resource usage view. But we can see work in decimal fractions (like 4,25 hrs)
but we can not enter decimal fractions in actual work fields. When we try to
put 4,25 in there, it sets to 4 and change the task duration (whihc is
expected)
How can we enter decimal fractions in there? Please help..
regards

Hello cemipalooza,

I'm able to enter Actual Work decimals in the Resource Usage as well in the
Task Usage (both in 2003 and 2007 versions)
Have you tried to enter "minutes of work" : for ex. 255m for 4,25h ?

Hi Gerard
When I use pro 2007 in local yes I can enter decimals but when I submit to
project server, baseline and try to enter actuals it does not support decimal
fractions, it just rounds it to the previous integer then it increases the
following days work hours even extends the end date although the task is
fixed duration and not effort driven. I am getting disappointed with project
server I dont think we can use this with our projects it is not reliable

You clearly have something configured incorrectly, but can't tell what from
your posts. You would need to describe your Project Server task tracking
settings to make sense of this.

Hi Gary I asked our project server admins but they say they dont have such a
configuraton on the server. Do you know is there any configuration on the
client or server that allows decimal number entrance or disable? I do not see
anywhere any settings that restrict this usage but I dont understand how I
cant enter decimals when I open projects on server with my pro 2007 client.

Like I said, to be helpful to you, I need to know what your tracking
settings are.
