DECREASE ALL NUMBERS IN A COLUMN BY A PERCENTAGE

I'm not knowledgable in excel. Can someone explain, in simple terms, how to
decrease all numbers in a column on a spreadsheet by a percentage? Thank you.

e.g. to decrease all by 5%:
- enter 0.95 in an empty cell and copy this cell
- select your values
- goto 'Edit - Paste Special' and choose 'Multiply'
