Decrease size of a worksheet so it has fewer than 64,000 rows?

I do not need for the worksheet to be so big. How do I decrease the size, not
just delete the data from the rows.

A worksheet has 65536 rows and 256 columns, no less and no more.

You can hide the rows and columns you don't use, but they will still be there.

If you or someone accidentally entered information in the last row or so you
could have a file that is unnecesarily bloated. I have people who do that
all the time. Just delete all the rows from your last real row to the end of
the sheet, and save. You will see blank rows, but they are truly blank.
When you are in the last row of your information your scroll bar should be at
the bottom.

I have done that, but the scroll bar at the right is still at the very top
since it thinks it has to scroll all the way to 64,000. Any way to reset it?
I have reset the print area, but that has not helped. Thanks!

I am not an Excel expert...but I think..

you may have accidentally key something into a cell at the far bottom. It
could be just a " ' " which is invisible.

Suggest you go to last cell of every column that has an entry, press 'End'
and then 'down arrow'. If there is an entry somewhere down there, the cursor
will stop at that cell.
Repeat for every column until you find which cell has the hidden entry.
Delete that entry.
