Default account changes after reboot (Outlook 2003)

Hello everyone

I've got a problem with Outlook 2003, wich happens when the computer
reboots. Every computer has an exchange and POP3 account, and the default
should always be the POP3 account. But when the computer starts, the default
account is reset to the exchange server.

Everytime you boot the computer, you manually have to change the default
account back to the POP3 account, and that's not preferred. Is there someway
to stop outlook from doing this?

The computers are on a local domain, attached to a Small Business Server
2003. Maybe the problem lies here, because you can change the default
account, and then start outlook again without any problems. It's only when
you reboot it changes...

I've tried reinstalling outlook, but with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Regards
Claus Nielsen

Hi Claus, check if the user's account is not defined to
use a profile.

Good luck!

SBS2003?

I would try copying the profile with the POP account and use the copy or
edit the prf to add the pop account. Editing the sbsoutlook.prf to
OverwriteProfile=No, so it's not changed when they log on if the profile
exists will help and changing ModifyDefaultProfileIfPresent=FALSE is also an
option- they can set a different as default instead of using the profile
selector.

More information on where to find the file is at

http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/prf.htm has information on editing a prf,
specifically the page for Adding Internet Email accounts.
