Default boxes checked for "My Projects" on Project Manager?

What permissions and view capabilities (both project and resource) are
checked out of the box? I assume I can go back to "default"
permissions using the "Project Manager" template. Not sure about the
view setup though for projects and resources.

Also, are "My Organization" and "My Projects" categories tied to
Project Manager's by default?

Thanks,

Andy --

For a definitive and comprehensive treatment of Groups and Categories, and
all of their default settings, you need to purchase our Project Server 2003
book for administrators. You can purchase this book by clicking on either
of the URL's in my signature block.

And yes, the My Organization and My Projects categories are included in the
Project Manager's group by default. Hope this helps.

Andy --

After reviewing your original question, I failed to answer it completely.
My apologies. The following permissions for the My Projects category in the
Project Managers group are set to Allow:

Build Team On Project

Create New Task or Assignment

Delete Project

Open Project

Save Project

See Enterprise Resource Data

See Projects in Project Center

See Projects in Project Views

See Resource Assignments in Assignment Views

View Risks, Issues, and Documents

As a bonus answer, the following permissions for the My Organization
category in the Project Managers group are set to Allow:

Assign Resource
Edit Enterprise Resource Data

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. I DO have your book. So, when I'm looking at pages 186
thru 189 that depict the My Projects Category, I am looking at the
default selections?

So the default checkboxes are:

Allow users in this category to view all projects they manage
Allow users in this category to view all projects in which they are a
team mbr
Allow users in this category to view all projects assigned to resources
that they manage

Allow users in this category to view their own information
Allow users in this category to view information for all resources in
projects that they manage

?????????

Thanks,
Andy

Keep in mind that you'll have to cut and paste the links that Brian posts.

Wow Brian, after all these years, you finally got that news reader of yours
to post links that Microsoft Apps can read! I'll be clicking on all your
links from now on.<g>

I change the seeting again to see if the links still work. The setting
I had messed up the quoting of posts.

How about now?

With the setting that works for links it breaks quoting so that only the
first line of the quoted text has the > symbol!

very vexing! Great reader other than this!
