default bullets (not)

In PPT2007, can someone tell me how to get rid of bulleted text as a
default. I would like to use a simple minimalist blank template whose
properties are stable and propagate to slides that are pasted in, but
all my attempts to create such a template have failed. I have a single
custom layout on a single master slide; no placeholders, objects, or
text (completely blank), but when I paste slides into a "new"
presentation from other files, all the text suddenly acquires bullets.

I have tried going to slide master view, pasting in a text box and a
shape, changing bullet/number styles to none, and then saving as a
template (blank.potx), to no avail.

Any advice about this trivial but annoying problem (having to reformat
all the text on slides pasted into new presentation) will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

instead of a completely blank master you should create a template with a
master that has a text-placeholder without bullets. Try it this way:
- Go to View/Master
- Go to the first master that is shown above the others
- Highlight the complete text-placeholder and deactivate the bullets
- leave the master and save your template

Make a new presentation based on this template and insert slides without
keeping the formatting.
