Default directory after sending email

After sending my spreadsheet as an attachment to an email
from Excel 2002 by clicking on Send To | Mail Recipient,
my default directory for opening/saving files changes
from my normal default to c:\program files\common
files\system\mapi\1033.

Any ideas how to stop this happening?
