I have a user who is new to Visio who wants to change her default drawing
color from Blue to Black.
I do not use Visio and would like to request some assistance.

Thanks in advance

Which version of Visio do you have? In both Visio 2003 and Visio 2007 you
can set the Line color, the Text color, and the Fill color for objects that
you draw using the tools on the Formatting toolbar, which is usually the
second line of tools at the top of the screen. However, the shapes that
you use from the Visio stencils will still be in the original colors that
they were created with (black).

One thing that helps in 2007 is that you can use Themes to change the
colors across your drawing. For instance, if you use the Flowchart
template (File | New | Flowchart | Basic Flowcharting) to create a drawing,
you can select a new color theme using the Format command on the menu, then
choosing Themes. This opens the Theme - Colors pane on the right, and
allows you to choose from many color setups that are color coordinated (and
match to colors in the other Office 2007 applications).

Also, if your user needs some basic instruction, you might want to point
them to a Getting Started style book (such as Visio 2007 Step by Step :
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Visio-2007-Step/dp/0735623570/ref=sr_
1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244675627&sr=8-1)

There are some nice online training 'courses' (really small tutorials) to
help explain various concepts as well :
Visio 2007 : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/CR101109221033.aspx
Visio 2003 : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/CR061832751033.aspx
