Default Duration

In Project Professional 2007, when a new task is added, a default duration of
"1 day" is automatically put into the duration column. I would like to
change that to "0" whenever a new task is entered. How?

I want to use fixed work, allowing the durations to be calculated based on
the fixed work hours and then the resource. So, how would I go about doing
that procedurally - if I enter the task name, zero out the duration, enter
the work hours, isn't the task still considered a milestone?

Leave the default Duration at 1 day. Make sure the tasks are set to Fixed
Work. Apply the Gantt Chart view and then click Window - Split to apply the
Task Entry view. Select a task in the top pane. In the bottom pane, select
one or more resources, set the Units value for each resource, and then enter
a Work value for each resource. When you click the OK button in the lower
pane (Task Form), the system calculates the Duration based on the Units
value(s) and Work value(s). There is no need to pre-set the Duration to 0
days. Hope this helps.
