Default folders become sub folders

Hello, I have a local 2003 Exchange server. I have 1 Mac user that has somehow got his Deleted Items folder & Junk E-mail folder moved as a subfolder of "Trash". The Mac user tried more than a year ago to use ThunderBird and then was using MacMail. When using OWA or RDP (RDP goes to our Terminal Server), the folder structure looks the same. How did this happen?
The other issue is that he cannot empty the Junk E-mail folder or permanently delete the Deleted Items folder from Entourage (he clicks it, but nothing happens). He can do it when using OWA or RDP. I plan on dragging Office 2004 to the Trash and installing 2008, but seeing the folder structure from OWA or RDP concerns me. The "Trash" folder does not appear to be a Microsoft default item. I have another Mac user that does not have any of these issues. She used Mac Mail for a while before we switched her to Entourage. Her folder structure looks consistenet with other Exchange users. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should still be able to use Entourage 2004.

I suggest connecting to the user's account in Outlook, since you're
probably more familiar with how to resolve problems there, and rearrange
the folder structure as it should be.

Then in Entourage 2004, let that sync back to Entourage. Optionally, you
can simply create a new Entourage identity using Entourage menu -->
Switch Identity... and set up the Exchange connection again. You can let
everything sync back to the Mac.

Hope this helps!
