Default format for new mail in Outlook 2003

I specified MS Word 2003 as the editor for new mail in Outlook 2003. I
also modified Normal.dot in my MS Word 2003. It works OK for new
documents in Word, but not for new mail in Outlook. Any help would be
appreciated.
