default icon missing in folder view

In folder view, I used to have a picture of a house/icon next to the
"default.htm" file name. I don't know what I did, but now it's gone; it has
the regular page icon. I'm presuming this is not good to not have the house
icon.

When I right click in folder view to use the short cut menu, the "set as
home page" phrase doesn't appear. Could anyone shed some light on how to
repair this (and advice about how not to lose it in the future?) Thanks!

What do you have in Navigation View as a home page filename and icon

In navigation view, the "home page" has no icon, but the filename does end in
Default.htm (which is what the server requires).

I should probably mention that I was given two subsites by our server
(school sytem). One subsite is operating fine. This other one, in which we
were testing various formats, is where I lost the icon for home page. I had
created a workable home page with a dwt attached, and then I thought I should
rclean up and rearrange the files (first time I had done so), so the images
were in the image file, etc. After I had made new folders is when I noticed I
lost the icon. (And it is not located elsewhere in the site.) If there is an
obvious solution to the problem, I will contact our site administrator, but I
thought if I the fix is obvious, I'd rather do it myself (with help from MS
users). Thanks.

I meant to say "if the solution is NOT obvious, I'll contact our site
administrator. . ."

I'm having the same exact problem - the house icon goes away, and it's
messing up my link bars, because they don't know what the home page is. I
don't have an answer, but misery loves company, I guess.

see if you can right click and "set as home page" in the folder pane (left
side), also get into navigation view and see if it exists there, if not drag
the page into the "home" position.
