Default Legend

I tried to edit the legend in MS Project 2003 by adding my own images &
descriptions. This overwrote the default legend which is not what I wanted
and by deleting my edited version, I seem to have also deleted the default
setting for the legend. Any idea how to get the default setting back? I've
also checked earlier versions of the same programme, and I can't seem to
display the default legend at all - it seems to be a MS Project change rather
than a specific project change.

Hi,

How do you edit the legend? If what you mean is you change the Bar Styles of
a view this is not at all computer-wide it is limited to one view in one
Project.

Same goes for changes made through PageSetup, Legend.

Are we talking about the same Legend?

I assume you are talking about the Legend in the Page Setup?
Normally, the only part of the legend that you can modify is the left
part where by default the Project Name and current date are shown.

Are you still seeing the part of the legend with the coloured bars (e.g.
Red= Critical tasks etc.)?

Keep in mind that when printing some views like the Task Usage, a legend
is not available. Also, make sure the 'Legend On' setting in Page Setup
is not set to 'None'.

I hope this helps,
Hans

Many thanks for your advice but after messing around with the settings, the
legend has re-appeared. I'm not sure what I did but it worked.
