Default Macros

I created a database using Microsoft Access, and a worksheet using Excel with
Office 2000. Whenever I try to send it to somebody else via Email, they say
the can't open it because their virus protection software blocks it saying
that I have Macros in there. Well my computer is free of viruses. The
macros in there are defaults from when I installed office. What can I do?

There aren't default macros in Office documents so if you didn't add
any then they documents shouldn't contain macros. It sounds like they
need to save the attachment to their local drive and open it from
there instead of trying to open it directly from email. Either that or
their virus software is blocking the Office file type.

For example in a template that was pre-installed with Office from EXCEL, I
get the following message when I try to open it up. (the same message appears
when others try to open a document I created from scratch in ACCESS when I
email the file to them that have no macros what-so-ever, and Office won't
open them-or their virus software won't open them):

"c:\Program Files\microsoft office\Templates\1033\invoice.xlt contains
macros. Macros may contain viruses. It is always safe to disable Macros,
but if the Macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionality." ANd
then there are 3 choices: "Disable Macros"; "Enable Macros"; "More info."

The ACCESS file is an important file, how do I perge teh file of macros.
Especially if I didn't put any in to begin with but still get the above
message.

Are you using the macros from the Excel template? If not then the
easiest way to remove them is to copy the worksheets to a new Excel
workbook.

For Access, unfortunately the macro message is triggered for every
database you open unless you set your Macro Security to Low. Each user
would need to do this, you can't set it for them.

Here's a thread with a good explanation of what is happening:

You could also use a digital signature but those are costly.
