Default "Normal" style settings

How do I change the default "Normal" style settings? My
Normal settings default to Times New Roman, size 12. I
want them to always default to Arial, size 10.

Open the Normal template (not a document based on it), and change the Normal
style to Arial 10. Save and close the template; exit Word and relaunch it.
Now, when you open a new document, it will be based on the altered Normal
template. However, existing documents are not affected and must be changed
individually.

An easy way to change an existing document is with File-Organizer. Copy the
Normal style from the Normal template to any document you want to alter.

Go to Format | Style | Modify (in Word 2002 or 2003, click on the arrow
beside the style in the Styles and Formatting task pane and choose Modify
style). Make the desired font changes and check the box for "Add to
template."
