Default outline task

Hi i've created a new task outline i rename it to "task status" which i want to use in its table there are the following:
client material, client feedback, ongoing and client's feedback.
what i want is when i create a new task i want in the new column "tak status" to get by defult the ongoing and if any other value this task should take i'll change it manually?
i dont know if i made it clear but what i'm getting now when i create a new task is a blank cell wating to be filed from the dropdown menu. what i want to get is ongoing as a default

Hi Assad,

In order to set a default value in a field with a list of other possible
values, I believe you cannot use an outline field. You'll need to use a
spare custom field (Text1 for example) and create a value list. In the
Customize Fields dialog box, click Value List. In the Value List dialog
box you can enter your list (ongoing, client material, client feedback,
etc.). Then select "ongoing" for the default entry.

thanks a lot i've actually tried this right after i've posted that question and found out that it works, so thank you for your time and i was glad that i've solved it like you've told me.
