default picture file location

When working in a document and inserting pictures, Word used to offer me the
same directory that the previous picture came from - very handy since I store
my pictures for each document in their own directory. However, since
upgrading some Adobe software the other day, Word keeps reverting back to the
default directory (..../Office11) for each picture I want to insert - and
when I'm inserting 10 pictures into a document, pathing through to find my
directory is getting very annoying!

I really don't want to change the default location for the pictures, as this
changes my clipart default as well (and then Word can't find my clipart). I
just want Word to go back to the same directory while I'm working on a
document.

Is this possible again?

Word will revert to the last used folder only if you *don't* have a default
clip art path defined. If you have defined one, you can't change it to
nothing, so a Registry edit is required to undefine it (by editing or
deleting the key). I don't have the exact Registry key at my fingertips, but
if you can't figure it out by looking, I expect Mary Sauer or someone else
will be along to provide it.

Note that, with no default defined, Word will default to My Pictures the
first time you insert a picture in any Word session but thereafter will
default to the last-used folder.

Thank you. That worked. I was able to find the registry entry by going to
one of your earlier posts regarding a similar problem.
