Default placement of the return address on an envelope?

The default placement for a return address on an envelope is "AUTO." How can
I change this so that the default placement is the specific one I want?

This can be adjusted to some extent by modifying the Envelope Return style.
You can add a left indent or Space Before to place the return address
farther from the left or top margin (you could even use a negative left
indent to place it closer to the left edge of the envelope), but there's no
way to change the margins except by creating an envelope template.
