In a custom application that a colleague has developed, I have done the
following:
1. Go into the app through the back door (i.e. so I see the regular
Access database window and Access menu).
2. Create a report called Report Template. It has font defaults in
Text boxes and labels as Times New Roman and 10 point.
3. Make Report Template the default Report to use (Tools, Options).
4. Still in the application's back door, create another new report.
When I add fields to the report, text boxes and labels have the new
defaut format of Times New Roman 10 point. All appears fine.
BUT
1. If I go into the application the regular way and create a new
report, the default font is back to Arial 8 point.
2. The command which creates the new report is acCmdNewObjectReport
which I think just brings up the Report Creation dialogue box so there
must be something in that bypassing the default Report that I created.
But I can't find any references anywhere to exactly how the Report
Creation process works.
3. BTW - in Step 4 above, I go through the same Report Creation
dialogue box and my new default fonts work so perhaps there is
something inherent in the application that is blocking the default
report being used. But I have no idea where to look to find that out.
Thanks for any help you can give. Carol.
