default settings for new slides

I have changed my masterview to include a single text box for blank slides. I
want all new slides I insert to have the same format, The default layout is
not what I want. Without using "insert duplicate slide," how do I change the
settings so all new slides I insert have the layout design I want?

I changed the title slide in master view, but it only changed the one slide
and not the next ones I inserted?

I know it must be simple, but it's making me a little nuts!

You will need to change the format in master slide, not the title master.
