Default Tab Stops change in Pub 2002

I just finished my first newsletter using Publisher. I
was using a tab stop setting of .12 instead of .5. For
some reason I haven't been able to pin down, the default
would get reset to .5 with the result of text at the end
of my text boxes getting pushed off the bottom. Resetting
the tab stop to .12 would fix everything until the next
time Publisher decided I really meant .5! Any clues about
why this is happening would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Steve

It is a bug that has not been addressed in Pub 2002 or the soon to be
released Pub 2003.

The only way you can overcome this issue is if you create a Text Frame in
the scratch area, and copy/duplicate that text frame when you require
another Text Frame.

To duplicate a Text Frame hold down the Ctrl key and look for the Arrow with
a + sign on the top, then drag the Text Frame and you will have a duplicate.

OK. Let me make sure I understand. If the text frame is
created in the scratch area (the area outside the page or
pages that I'm working on) and then gets copied (not
moved?) to a page, then the tabs won't automagially
change?

This seems like a bug worth fixing!

Thanks for your illumination.

Yes, that is the only way to keep fonts, type size, tabs, the Text Frame
margins which are ridiculous in size as the defaults are so large, and cause
users so many issues.

It was a bug worth fixing, but it did not get fixed.

Depending on the type of work you are doing, it may pay you to go and find a
second hand version of Publisher 97.

Steve,

Are you saying that your EXISTING text boxes are getting
reset or just new text boxes that you create don't have
your setting?

Also, don't forget about the format painter!
