Default Template for Powerpoint - How to Set Up

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) On Powerpoint for Windows, I can save a "blank.potx" template in a template file so that every time I launch Powerpoint it automatically launches with that template.

On Powerpoint for Mac, I'm not seeing a way to do the same? I've tried to put the "blank.potx" template that I want in the templates/mytemplates folder but it doesn't seem to invoke automatically when I launch the Powerpoint application
