Is there a default setting for user permissions for each group?

I am new to using Project Server and would like to know how to decide what
permissions are necessary to give to each of the groups, i.e. Executives,
Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, Resource Managers and Team Members.

You can find the default permissions for each group by the following:
Login to PWA as Administrator and click
Admin --> Manage Security --> Security Templates

The list of default security templates are divided between groups
Click on Modify Templates to view the permissions
