default view setting

When I open a New word document, it comes up in the normal view. However,
when I open any of my saved documents, they come up in the Print Layout view,
even if I change them and save them. Once I close it, it goes back to Print
Layout.

Any way to set the default for every instance of opening word to "normal"
view and not the "print" view?
