Define chart type in excel 2008

Previous versions of excel allowed the user to define a chart type. This
chart type would retain user settings for font, axis bounds, titles, etc. Is
it possible to define chart types in excel 2008? I can't find anything about
this in excel 2008 help or on the internets.
