Word Perfect user attempting to change to Word. Does Word a a feature similar to WP's Advance

Word has an ADVANCE field, but it is provided only for use in converting WP
docs and is not at all user-friendly. There is nothing in Word really
comparable to WP's Advance feature (and I often miss it). To drop text on a
page, in situations where "Spacing Before" is not satisfactory, I often use
a large, empty, borderless single-cell table.
