I am using Outlook 2003 in cacahed Exchange mode on a laptop. When Outlook
is offline I find that attachments open quickly. However, when I use Outlook
online (connected via an ADSL RAS connection to my office) attachments take a
long time to open and there appears to be a lot of network activity even
though my mailbox is fully syncronised and the attachments should be
available on the local hard disk. Is there a configuration setting that
would reduce this network activity and just open attachments straight from
the cache on the local hard disk whether Outlook was online or offline?
