delay in sending messages

hi all,
everytime i send email from MS Outlook XP it stays in Inbox for a while.
sometimes when i click on anotehr folder like Sent Items or Drafts it sends
the message right away but sometimes this trick doesn't work!

have you faced such issue before? please advice.

Have you checked your Send/Receive settings?

In Outlook, Tools, Send/Receive, Send/Receive Settings,
Define Send/Receive Groups, then change the settings so
Outlook does a Send/Receive more often.
