Delete a corrupted record

Hi,

I'm posting here a query I put on another NG. Hope no-one minds, but I
haven't found an answer yet;

Me:
In a large table (over 20,000 records) one record has corrupted. I
don't know how or why it happened.

Every time the mouse passes over this line in the table there is an
error message saying its an invalid command. I can't find any way to
remove or correct the record. Please can you tell me if there is a way
to delete just the one line, without getting all these messages?

thanks,

have you tried repairing the database?

Me;
I don't know how to do that?

Do you have Access 2000 or 2003? Have you ever looked at your database
in design view?

Me:

Yes I know Design View. It's 2000 version

You said this is a table. If it's a table and not a form you should
be able to look at it in datasheet view and change the record. I would
not suggest deleting it. I would try to change it or update it and
then save your database and see if this takes care of it.

Me:
This was the first thing I tried. Every field of this one record shows
"#Error" but if you even *only* pass over it with the mouse you get an
error message! (ther is no Form, just a table)

There's no way to click into any of the cells, (using either mouse or
keystrokes) without getting the error message up and it won't let you
delete the text in that cell nor overwite the information. Which is why
I asked if anyone knew of any other ways to remove it.

I may have to resort to copying all the table above & below that record
and pasting it into a new table. It's all I can think of.

Can anyone here offer suggestions Please? All I can think of is to copy &
paste all except the BAD record into a new table, but I'm wary of upsetting
the links. If I renamed the problem table first, then set up the new one
using the original name of the corrupted table, do you think that would cure
the problem?
