Delete Block? No ( Yes )

All of sudden Microsoft Office 2000 - Word is asking a
question when I am trying to delete a Higlighted section
with the Delete key.
The Question appears on the Bottom status bar is
Delete Block? No (yes)
How should I get rid of this question or else how do I set
the default to Yes.

Thanks if anybody can help me.
