Delete Columns/Row not working

Hi All,

I have Excel 2003 and for some unknown reason, the Delete columns and rows
functions are not working properly. If I select a row or a column header, the
Delete in Edit is still greyed out. I can right-click and select Delete for a
row header, but not for a column header. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Do you have any merged columns or rows on the sheet perhaps? sometimes that
can prevent you from doing certain things.

No. This happens for any new/old workbook. P.G.

This occurs with all existing workbooks on all worksheets?

Also all new workbooks?

Just one workbook?

Just one worksheet in that one workbook?

If the last, check to see if you have sheet protection enabled with the "Delete
Rows" enabled and "Delete Columns" disabled.

This occurs with all the cases I have tried: existing workbooks with all
worksheets and a new workbook with all sheets. There are no disabled Add-in
items. I also tried Detect and Repair under Help with no sucess. -PG

This is the strangest darn thing.

Try re-setting the Worksheet Menu.

Tools>Customize>Toolbars.

Select Worksheet Bar and "reset".

I agree. Resetting the Worksheet Menu does not solve the problem. Searching
Google under 'Excel Delete Greyed', I found that someone else had a similar
problem. He mentioned something about IT guy installing ADO and Visual Office
Studio ( I think it is VSTO). I did have VSTO runtime installed. But I do not
think VSTO itself is the problem as I have the Delete function working in a
Virtual PC instance with Excel 2003.

Without re-install, I tried customizing the Edit menu by adding Delete
Columns command. It is working fine in Edit ( but not by right-clicking).
