Hello,
I added a misspelled word to my Word for Mac dictionary. How do I delete it so that it is still detected as a misspelling? Thanks!

Dear [whoever],

If Word 2008 files are the same as Word 2004, you can find the Custom
Dictionary by cascading through these folders (if not, do a Spotlight
search):

[hard disc name]/Users/[your user name]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

Then right-click (or Control-click) the "Custom Dictionary" file and "Open
with" TextEdit application.

The words in the dictionary will be displayed, and you can delete what you
want, then save.

Cheers,

Open the Word preferences, select Spelling and Grammar, click the
Dictionaries button, then select the dictionary you want to edit and
click the Edit button.

Many thanks for answering this for another viewer. I just had the same problem and spent hours trying to correct a dumb mistake. Phew!

Go to the Spelling preferences in Word. You can select your custom
dictionary there and as Word to open it. Make corrections, and save...
