Delete record command not available

I'm trying to delete a record from a command button on a form.
The VBA code on the button is

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdDeleteRecord

When run this produces an error 2046
"The command or action isn't available now."
I will obviously be tidying the code up with a password form as well but IU
want to get the basics working.
It runs when the code is a macro.
Currently I'm the only one in the DB as I'm still desiging it.
Help please!

Ok,
I'm getting the error because I have a watch on it and am trying to accion
it in step mode.
