Is there a way of deleting the previously saved Excel files? It is maddening
to see all those things that I can no longer open.

In office 2007 I have headings of Home, Insert, Page Layout, Formulas, Data,
Review and View. It isn't under the MS circle either. Am I missing something?

Sorry Dawn...........I use Excel 97 and not up on how the menus have changed
in the newer versions..........perhaps someone else can jump in here.......

Round Office button>Excel Options>Advanced>Display>Recently used files>use
dropdown to set the number (0 if you don't want to see any)
