delete templates

I have been having problems saving Excel 2007 files.

Saving is intermittent
-most of the time I can use 'save as' to a new file name.
-most of the time I can use 'save as Excel 97 format'
-can save by turning off Live Onecare's Virus and spyware monitoring.
-no problems with Access or Word documents which while saving to the same
folder.
Some research tells me that the problem is related to recent templates I dl,
but I cannot find any way to remove/uninstall.

Any Ideas?
