Delete text using the delete key

C

Carl

Whenever I highlight some text and press the delete key,
I always get a message in the bottom left corner of the
screen the prompts me to "Delete Block? No (Yes) I have
reinstalled Office XP and that when this begin to
happen. Before it use to instantly delete all of the
highlighted text as soon as I pressed the delete key.
This may sound simple but I have not been able to figure
out what is going on. I have tryed the
tools/options/edit tab and nothing worked. Please help.

Tools => Options => General (tab)

Uncheck both boxes for the options that have "Word Perfect" in them.

I am having the same trouble. But I am also having trouble with the Home
key. It does not return me to the beginning of the line. Both of these
features work in other Office products, just not in Word.
