"Deleted Items" folder

Open item and select File > Properties. Value you are interested in is last
modified.

PS - The "Modified" date can be added to any folder view.

Your suggestion works for a SPECIFIC item but I'd prefer to see the "Deleted
on" date for ALL items in my "Deleted Items" folder.

Expanding on your suggestion, I added a "Modified" field and the date each
item was deleted is displayed in this column.

Note: There's a "Deleted on" field but why aren't any dates displayed in
this column?

What version of Outlook are you using because looking in my list of fields
tha can be added to a folder, I don't see a "Deleted On"... unless I'm
looking at the deleted item recovery area of an Exchange mailbox. Is that
what you are looking at?

I think I added "Deleted On" as a "New Field". But, since I couldn't find
any instructions on defining what "Deleted On" means, that's probably why
nothing is displayed in that column.

Re: "Modifed": When a deleted item appears in my "Deleted Items" folder,
will the "Modified" date be the date the item was deleted?

Yes to the question or better stated, that is the date/time the last change
occoured to the item. So that date can change as an item is moved between
folders or you go in and modify something in the item.

This doesn't seem to work in Outlook 2007. Mail items are not modified by
deleting or moving, so the Modified field doesn't show deleted date. They
don't seem to be modified by opening them either -- the Read field isn't
associated with any date/time I guess. Is this a setting that can be changed?

Is there any way to accomplish this in Outlook 2007? I find that sometimes
I accidentally delete a message I haven't looked at, and then can't find
which email it was! I know that sounds a little nuts, but if you are reading
a number of messages with the same subject, it can be hard to pinpoint.

Also to followup on gcotterl's "deleted on" field, I see where you can add a
new field, but what good is it if you can't define the field? How do you do
that?

Thanks for the help.
