I have accivently deleted the shortcut for Word and Powerpoint. Now after
selecting Start, All programs, Office I can no longer get them on the Office
list.
How do I put them back on the program list?

If they're still on the Start Menu, find e.g. the PowerPoint shortcut,
rightclick and drag it onto your desktop and choose Copy Here when you release
the mouse key. Bingo.

If they're not there, you can rightclick the desktop, choose New, Shortcut and
then browse to wherever you installed Office and locate POWERPNT.EXE (or
WINWORD.EXE), choose that, then set any other options you might need.

If they were on your desktop simply create a new shortcut to point to the
relevent exe
Otherwise a repair of Office should replace the program files shortcuts, if
you dont know how to recreate them

I am running XP.
The shortcuts were not on the desktop.
I want to restore the shortcuts back to the program list.
If i go into the program file to create a shortcut it will go to the desktop
but i want to create the original type of shortcut on the program menu.

If you have a Desktop shortcut then you can move it to your Start Menu.
Right-drag the shortcut to your Start button, wait for the menu to open, and
then move it to your desired location. When you release the mouse you'll be
prompted with a menu asking "Move Here", "Copy Here" and "Create Shortcut
Here". If you want to move it from the Desktop then select "Move Here". To
duplicate it, select "Copy Here".

Note the key to this procedure is to keep the mouse button held down. If
you release the mouse button too soon then you can left drag the shortcut to
move it wherever you'd like on the Start menu. Additionally, if you want the
shortcut to display at the top of the Start menu in the Programs list, after
you've placed the shortcut on the Start menu, right-click the shortcut and
select "Pin to Start menu"

Double click the Program file and start it up, then click Help, Detect
and Repair, to reinstall the Start menu shortcuts.
