Deleting an e-mail that's stuck in outbox (Outlook 2007)

When I try to delete an e-mail that is stuck in outbox it won't delete. I've
tried repeatedly to delete but it won't go away. Quite annoying!

Anyone have any ideas on how I get rid of this problem (and what is causing
this to happen)?

Any help appreciated!

Click File and check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. Delete the
message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

Oh My God! Brian you are the best! I've been having this issue for days and
it was slowing down my whole computer and kept trying to resend the message
in my outbox and I'd gotten around 70 "failure to deliver" messages. Ahhh!
breath of relief!
